“I’m not the Favorite (Kid)”: Shedeur Sanders Explains Why Shelomi is Deion Sanders’ Most-Liked Child Right Now

It was yet another winning week for Deion Sanders as the Colorado Buffaloes thrashed Utah Utes by 49-24, powered by a stellar performance from his son, QB Shedeur. It has been a season full of highs for Sanders as a coach as well as a father. Early in November, Coach Prime’s youngest daughter Shelomi scored a career-high 14 points in Alabama A&M’s 96-50 win over Oakwood.

Reflecting on his sister’s performance, Shedeur said that the basketball player is probably his dad’s favorite child right now. However, he quickly revealed that Deion keeps changing his favourite kid on a weekly basis.

“I think right now my dad’s favorite probably is my little sister ‘cuz she went out there and she scored some points at her game. I think she’s the favorite right now. And I started off the game (against Utah) with a pick. So I know, I’m not the favorite right now. It just changes week-by-week on performances and who does what,” Shedeur said on 2legendary podcast’s Tuesday episode.

The shuffle is probably Deion’s way of offering unbiased treatment to his children while making them strive toward excellence, the ‘favorite tag’ being an incentive.

However, Shedeur has a diplomatic approach when it comes to his favorite sibling. Does he have one? Is it Deion Sanders Jr., Shilo, Deiondra, or Shelomi?

“I think I don’t really have a favorite,” said Shedeur. They all help me in different ways. It depends. My favorite sibling when we go shopping…I don’t know…Bucky it just depends on what move Bucky in and Shilo in because they…Shilo will do his own thing. Bucky, he gonna do his own thing too. So it’s really I’m happy with myself. I’m my own favorite sibling.”

It is indeed tough to rank siblings. Deion, though, has been ranking his kids for quite some time now. And yet, it has not led to any sibling rivalry.

On the contrary, we have seen nothing but incredible love and bonding among the Sanders kids. Evidently, Deion is raising not just champions but youngsters with good family values.
