“I Don’t Bully Him”: Deion Sanders Makes His Feelings Clear on Travis Hunter’s Humorous Admission
Deion Sanders has said time and again that he considers Travis Hunter to be just like his own son. Unsurprisingly, Hunter too considers himself part of the Sanders family. However, he says being one of Coach Prime’s sons comes with its own challenges.
As Hunter joined ESPN to discuss the Biletnikoff Award he just won, he revealed that he considers the Sanders clan to be like his own family. He believes that he often receives the same care and attention from Coach Prime as the youngest child would in any family.
However, he humorously stated that being the fourth son means he also gets bullied by his older brothers and Deion himself:
“I’m like the fourth son so I get the treatment of the last son. They always try to bully me. But I’m top dog, so I don’t let them bully me.”
As Papa Sanders joined the conversation to rain praises on Hunter, he also took the opportunity to categorically deny the allegations leveled by his “fourth son”:
“I don’t bully him but he knows he has to work for everything he gets. We don’t just give him nothing, we make him earn it.”
The Hall of Famer further described the Buffs wideout as an incredible athlete and an even better person, emphasizing the father-son dynamic of their relationship.
Coach Prime expressed his deep admiration for his “fourth son,” calling him the kind of player any coach dreams of having.
After a sensational season with the Colorado Buffaloes, the awards keep coming Hunter’s way. He has now received AP College Football Player of the Year Honors, the Walter Camp Award, the Lott Trophy, the Chuck Bednarik Award, and the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year Award.
He became the first player in college football history to win both the Bednarik and Biletnikoff Awards. Now, he waits for the biggest one of them all: the Heisman trophy.
