Michael Jordan’s $70M Private Jet Steals the Show at NASCAR Race in Bristol
Michael Jordan certainly knows how to live it up king-size. There is no doubt that he has earned the luxuries he indulges in, including his mode of transport. And the six-time NBA Champion likes to travel in style in a $70 million jet, which he procured last year.
Jordan was always known as an athlete who was the life of the party on and off the court. During his playing career, he often bought new cars, gambled, and wore flashy clothing. So the private jet, though, is taking indulgence to another level, doesn’t come across as a huge surprise either.
The jet was the center of attention at the NASCAR race in Bristol. And a lucky fan got the opportunity to show it off up close and personal. The aircraft has many elements that are MJ trademarks.
It has a custom $500k elephant-print paint job inspired by his Air Jordan sneakers. Its tail number, N236MJ, is a nod to Jordan’s jersey number 23, six Larry O’Brien trophies, and initials. Inside the jet is the real attraction, though.
The plane can hold 19 passengers, has thick cushioned seating with recliners, a private dining area, and a fully-stocked bar with LED lighting to boot.
The fan showcased Jordan’s private jet at an airfield near the Bristol Motor Speedway. The ride stood out despite being amongst a sea of private jets.
“You’re looking at it, study it hard. Whose plane is that?” The man asked. Then, pointing at the Jumpman logo on the tail, he added, “The GOAT. The greatest of all time, Michael Jordan. Look at that swish on the back. Michael Jordan’s pilots are inside.”
The man in the video then described how Jordan’s pilots carried themselves professionally. They wore nice suits, were mature, and were also super interested in what was going on during the race.
Jordan partnered with NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin in 2020 and launched their own racing team named 23XI. The team has three full-time racers on it. Since then, he has made it a point to attend as many races as possible.
Jordan has been a NASCAR enthusiast since he was a kid. Growing up in North Carolina, he would often set his alarm clock on Sundays to watch stock car racing.
It’s great to see the basketball legend pursue something he’s passionate about. His team has achieved several notable performances since its inception. Most notably, a victory at Talladega in 2021. Jordan’s team has shown the ability to be right up there with the competition. They just need to get all the factors in place to push for more victories.
Speaking of competition, Jordan’s private jet blew away all of the other ones that were parked at the airstrip in Bristol, possibly owned by fellow drivers and team owners. The slick paint job and sheer size of the plane stood out.
That’s MJ for you. He was, and is, keen to be the best at anything he does. Of course, when you drop $70 million on a private jet, the hardware better be jaw-droppingly amazing.
