Triple H: The Game denies being in competition with AEW and NJPW
Triple H: The Game denies being in competition with AEW and NJPW. Says NXT TakeOver taking place on August 31 has nothing to do with anyone.
The WWE announced that the NXT UK TakeOver will take place in Cardiff, Wales. The revelation came on the recently concluded NXT TakeOver: XXV. The news was also announced on the WWE.com and will stream live on the WWE Network at 3 p.m. ET/8 p.m. GMT on Saturday, Aug. 31.
If the date seems familiar to you, it is because AEW and NJPW have their own shows lined up on the same date. NJPW will hold their Royal Quest event at 5 a.m. ET and AEW All Out will take place at 8 p.m. ET. Does this mean the WWE is taking on the competition from two of its biggest competitors head on?

Well according to Triple H, the dates are merely a coincidence and the WWE had this planned from a long time.
In a post-TakeOver media call, Triple H took the opportunity to clear the air:
“Contrary to the buzz, the date of August 31 is a date we’ve had for a long time. That building has been booked with us long before WrestleMania. We just hadn’t announced because it wasn’t the right time. We didn’t want to announce something for the brand six months out. Tonight, was the right night to do it. It has nothing to do with anybody else, and we will take place in primetime in the UK and be on in the afternoon in the US.”
The head honcho of NXT claimed that there was a healthy competition between both the NXT brands and NXT UK would be looking to make a statement on August 31st.
Competition or not, August 31st will be an amazing day for wrestling fans who will get to enjoy top level professional wrestling from 3 different continents.
