AJ Styles Vs Ricochet for the United States Championship confirmed

AJ Styles Vs Ricochet for the United States Championship confirmed at the upcoming WWE Pay per view Extreme Rules.

AJ Styles made his WWE return at Stomping Grounds. The Phenomenal one congratulated Ricochet on his first championship in WWE before telling him that he would see him the next day.

True to his words, Styles clashed (Ha! get it?) with Ricochet in a non-title match. The two had a brilliant match that saw a brief interruption from the good brothers. However, AJ sent them back and resumed the match.

Ricochet tried his best but AJ came out victorious. The win earned him a title match next week. The Good Brothers claimed that AJ had gone soft and that was why he lost the match. They then got into AJ’s head and a provoked AJ slapped Ricochet. The U.S champion, not one to take things lying down, slapped AJ right back.

Their next match later in the night was filled with a lot more heat and competitiveness. The friendliness from the week before was all but vanished. This time though, Ricochet came out on top. A frustrated AJ finally snapped and ganged up with the good brothers to brutalize Ricochet.

‘The Phenomenal One’ vs ‘The One and Only’

AJ Styles Vs Ricochet was announced on WWE’s social media this Sunday.

The One and only took on both Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson in singles action; one after the other. Ricochet came out the victor on both occasions. However, it hardly mattered as the trio ganged up on him once again.

AJ offered mercy to Ricochet if the U.S Champion stayed down. The resilient champion turned down the offer and attempted to get up. Styles then knocked him out with a Phenomenal forearm.

Interestingly, AJ looked like he was starting a program with Baron Corbin before he had to take time off. With both of them heels now and busy with different opponents, it looks like the plans have dropped now. Fans won’t complain though. AJ vs Ricochet is definitely an upgrade to most.

Extreme Rules will take place on July 14, 2019, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It will stream live on the WWE network.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
