Eric Bischoff The Elite

The end of the AEW All Out PPV saw a horrific turn of events unfold. Nobody could even remotely anticipate CM Punk’s expletive eruption at the All Out post-show media scrum earlier this September. After CM Punk got some severe things off his chest that seemed to have been bottled in for a long time, he made his way backstage and flew into a rage and all hell broke loose.

Punk and then-backstage coach Ace Steel reportedly started a brawl with the Elite. Ace steel bit Kenny Omega during the altercation and even threw a chair while Punk got into a physical fisticuff with the YB.

CM Punk and Ace Steel have not been seen in AEW ever since though the fans did see the return of The Elite. Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks finally made their presence felt at the recent PPV event of Full Gear 2022.

While some fans cheered for them, others turned on them. A certain wrestling personality vehemently took shots at the trio after their return.

Eric Bischoff thinks the Elite are “immature”

Following the return of Elite, the trio made an appearance on AEW Dynamite on November 24 in Chicago for a tag team match against the Death Triangle. Ironically, Chicago is also former AEW Champion CM Punk’s native.

The Elite then antagonized the fans and mocked CM Punk during their match. Through their antics in the ring, The Elite displayed an exaggerated theatrical representation of the past events involving CM Punk.

During the match, Nick Jackson intentionally botched a Buckshot Lariat which was a clear shot at CM Punk.

Furthermore, Kenny Omega bit Pac’s arm referencing what happened backstage with Ace Steel. Finally, Omega took the liberty to use Punk’s finisher, GTS. Speaking on After 83 Weeks with Christy Olson, former WWE Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff was asked about how he felt about The Elite’s Kenny Omega and the YB mocking CM Punk on TV.

Bischoff condemned their antics and labeled them “immature”.

“It’s so childish, isn’t it,” Bischoff asked. “Does anyone other than me think this is just f*king like high school? I refuse to allow myself to even remotely be interested in this.

Imagine that people who are their target audience are relating to what I can – it’s just high stuff. Whatever man. Whatever happened, whatever happened, I don’t care. I don’t want to be associated in the same room with this. It’s weird.”

Eric Bischoff further expressed his bafflement at the situation and stated that “they’re children”. It’s conspicuous that Bischoff indicated that The Elite mocking the altercation was not a very mature thing to do.

Kenny Omega gives a wrestler from NJPW credit for using the GTS

As noted, Kenny Omega used the Go To Sleep finisher in the match’s final moments. While fans thought it was a way of insulting Punk, Omega was also paying tribute to NJPW’s Kenta, who is the inventor of the move.

Following the match, Omega took to Twitter to give credit to Kenta. Interestingly, Kenta is an active member of NJPW’s Bullet Club and so was Omega during his stint with NJPW.
