Anil Kumble (Jumbo) has recently taken over the reigns of the Indian Cricket team, tipping Ravi Shastri to become the National coach.

In the camp organised for the Indian contingent before departing for the West Indies, Kumble gave the batsmen a challenge of preserving their wicket for 1 full hour. The idea was to get the batsmen back into the ‘Test’ mode.

Ajinkya Rahane would be hoping that his constant success in the Test arena would help him cement his position in the side, for the big test season to come.

Ajinkya-Rahane-hd-photos-downloadAfter his appointment, Kumble has constantly spoken about how important it is for the Indian side to focus on Overseas tests, as a dismal overseas record doesn’t fare well for a side of India’s caliber. This was also one of the main reasons why Kumble got the nod ahead of all other applicants for the post of the Indian National Coach.

The Indian side had a productive camp in Bengaluru which ended with MS Dhoni greeting the side in a team bonding exercise. The limited overs Indian captain spoke to the youngsters about how it is important to enjoy the game and how in Indian cricket, with the pressure that surrounds cricket, players forget to enjoy the game that they love.

The Indian side have already left for the Caribbean and will be playing their first warm up game against the West Indies Cricket Board President’s XI on July 9.

The tour comprises of 4 Test matches, which begin on July 21 in Antigua.
