There are a total of nine different maps in Valorant, all of which have their own unique settings. Here is everything you require to know about these maps.

Riot Games released Valorant as a new-generation FPS title. And the fact that it is a tactical game, requires you to know several aspects other than gunplay. And one of the biggest of them is map knowledge.

Currently, there are a total of nine different maps in the game. All of which have their own unique aspects. Be it verticality, fast rotation, or simply size, they are set apart from each other. So, let us find out about these maps and all they have to offer.

Valorant maps

As mentioned before, there are nine maps hailing from different parts of an Earth set in the futuristic background. However, there is one other map that remains as a practice map. Upon release, the game had only four multiplayer maps along with the practice range.

Riot made a vow that every six months a map will be added to the game. So, after all this time, there remains a total of nine competitive maps. These are:

  • The Range (Practice map)
  • Ascent
  • Haven
  • Bind
  • Split
  • Icebox
  • Breeze
  • Fracture
  • Pearl
  • Lotus

Once Valorant left its Beta phase and was released, Ascent was introduced into the game. This mid-heavy map allows players to have a tactical edge over the enemy with dominant map control. Among the many exciting parts of the map, the unique part is the closable doors cutting off rotations from every site.

Ascent has a very standard approach with two sites, a long-running middle part with both sites having more than one entrance.

  • Best Agents: Sova, Jett, Killjoy

Haven

  • Location: Thimphu, Bhutan, Alpha Earth

Haven was the first Valorant map with triple sites. This also plays out perfectly for those who can hold map control. There are long stretches of areas in front of both A and C sites for players to keep an eye out for. This monastery in Bhutan can easily be marked as a defender-sided map because attackers have to take control of such long areas in the first place.

  • Best Agents: Raze, Killjoy, KAY/O

Bind

  • Location: Rabat, Morocco, Alpha Earth

This Moroccan map featured in a dusty Rabat background has a very unique aspect that sets Bind apart from any other maps. It is the existence of the two Teleporters on the map. While the map features the usual two-site structure, these Teleporters make it all so interesting for players.

Proper usage of these Teleporters can throw off any of the teams, especially the defenders as it allows swift rotations around the map. The map also has no middle ground where attackers can take up control and decide to hit one site. This allows for a more linear approach and helps defenders do their duties better.

  • Best Agents: Brimstone, Viper, Fade, Raze, Skye

Split

  • Location: Tokyo, Japan, Alpha Earth

Set in Japan, Split features multiple narrow angles and choke points where players have to be cautious moving into positions. The map also has a fair bit of verticality due to ropes and ramps in every part of the map.

This in turn makes it even harder for attackers to move around the map as all of those high grounds can be easily accessed by the defenders at the beginning of a round. Also, there is a middle in the map that connects to all parts of the map, allowing you to easily rotate if control is established.

  • Best Agents: Raze, Viper, Killjoy, Omen

Icebox

  • Location: Bennett Island, Russia, Alpha Earth

The first map to be introduced after the official release of Valorant, Icebox is one of the most interesting maps to date. This map is huge in size with multiple access points to all parts of it. Also, there are many points of verticality that allows makes life harder for those pushing or retaking a site in a traditional manner.

Despite being filled with containers and close angles, there is not much space for narrow fights. If you’re to survive and win a round, massive gun battles are your go-to options in Icebox.

  • Best Agents: Viper, Killjoy, Fade

Breeze

  • Location: Bermuda Triangle, Atlantic Ocean, Alpha Earth

If there wasn’t a Valorant match going on, the idle beachside of Breeze can easily put your mind to rest. With two massive sites, multiple points of contact and approaches, and a large enough middle to contend with, Breeze features everything the game has to offer.

Due to the size of the map, there are many instances where you might find yourself catching enemies off-guard by leaking through the cracks. Allowing lurks to have a massive impact on the game.

  • Best Agents: Harbor, Viper, Killjoy, Sova, Jett, Breach

Fracture

  • Location: Santa Fe County, New Mexico, USA, Alpha Earth

The first breakthrough in experimentation from Riot Games came in the form of Fracture. While the map showcased the traditional two-site approach, the best thing is that the rotations are divided for attackers. There is no middle for attackers as their spawn and other side are joined through two ziplines allowing you to travel for rotations.

While this map looks like a defender-sided map, attackers having free roam and choosing multiple approaches can really catch them off-guard.

  • Best Agents: Viper, Brimstone, Astra

Pearl

  • Location: Lisbon, Portugal, Omega Earth

Pearl features an underwater base where three lanes connect to two sites on the map. Due to the many possible entrances on the map, both attackers and defenders have to choose where to station themselves in order to get an upper hand in gunfights.

Both the sites have long as well as short stretches of corridors also connected with lanes from the middle of the map. This allows for many agents like Harbor who cuts off multiple angles very viable.

  • Best Agents: Harbor, Omen, Fade, Viper

Lotus

  • Location: Western Ghats, India, Omega Earth

The latest addition to the arsenal of Valorant maps, Lotus features an excavated Indian map. The map also introduced a new feature, rotating doors that allow you to fade in and out of fights depending on convenience.

The map also features a similar site setup as Haven with three approaches to choose from for the attackers. And all the rotational materials, long corridors, and three sites allow players to best utilize Agents like Viper, Breach, etc.

  • Best Agents: Viper, Breach, Brimstone, Reyna
