Arsenal keen on signing Barcelona’s Andre Gomes
Andre Gomes had a struggling season as he failed to break into Barca’s first team.
Barcelona signed Andre Gomes from Valencia in 2016 after the Portugal international enjoyed a memorable European Championship with his nation. He had a decent first season but in his two at Barcelona, he was never able to break into club’s starting and also lost on a starting berth with Portugal.
It is now widely reported that the 24 year old is seeking for a move away from Spain. Arsenal and Juventus have been identified as prospective buyers for the departing midfielder.
Barcelona will soon head to the United States for their International Champions Cup fixtures but are expected to leave Gomes back in Spain. During the meantime, he will complete a move to Arsenal if speculations are to be believed.
The Gunners are having a busy transfer window and could find a suitable replacement for Jack Wilshere in Andre Gomes. The Portuguese is a man of talent if given the right environment and minutes to prove himself. The only parameter to be discussed before the sale of Gomes can be made official is the transfer fee.

The Catalan owners of Gomes are looking for a transfer fee in the range of 20 million euros in order to rake some of their 35 million which they spent for him. Meanwhile, Londoners Arsenal are not willing to make an offer above 18 million euros.
Barcelona and Arsenal face a tough decision with Gomes now. The Catalans don’t want to keep the player on their accounts for a wasted payment, while Arsenal are not willing to match Barcelona’s asking price.
