The club based out of London is set to swoop in for the attacking player
The last couple of months have rekindled Jesse Lingard’s career. From being little more than a squad player for Manchester United to spearheading West Ham’s Champions League challenge, Lingard has flared up a career which was staring down the barrel.
Scoring six times in just eight matches for West Ham since joining the club in January on loan, Lingard’s performances have been notable. They have sparked West Ham’s interest with the London based club said to be extremely interested in snagging the player on a permanent transfer.
Arsenal To Launch Bid For Lingard
However, with Manchester United set to demand anything in the region of 30 million pounds given the player’s upheaval, West Ham are far from sold on a transfer. It has opened the door for their neighbours with Arsenal once again rekindling their interest in Lingard.
Monitoring Lingard’s situation back in January, Arsenal had ended up missing out on his services. However, they are looking to make amends for that as they look to launch a bid for the player once the ongoing season comes to an end.
Paul Merson meanwhile talked about Lingard and was certain the player would be opting for a transfer.
“He wants to play football. He’s gone to West Ham to play football, now he’s got the love back a bit.
“He lost a little bit of the love of the football, I think he lost his way a little bit. Now he’s loving football again, he’s playing.
“You want to play every week. There’s no point him going back to Manchester United and playing in the Carabao Cup games.”
Arsenal meanwhile are in the midst of a quandary. The club was hammered 3-1 by Liverpool previously in the Premier League before going onto draw 1-1 with Slavia Prague.
The club will be next taking on bottom placed Sheffield United in the Premier League on Sunday. West Ham meanwhile are leading against Leicester City with Jesse Lingard netting his 7th goal in 9 matches for the club.
