Bangladesh vs Afghanistan Twitter reactions: Twitter bows down to Rashid Khan after Afghanistan beat Bangladesh in Chattogram

Bangladesh vs Afghanistan Twitter reactions: Twitter went crazy after witnessing the riveting encounter on the last day.

During the fifth day of the one-off Test between Bangladesh and Afghanistan in Chattogram, Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh by 224 runs to register their second victory in Test matches. With the match being veteran all-rounder Mohammad Nabi’s last Test, it went down as a fitting tribute for him.

Chasing a 398-run target, Bangladesh had resumed proceedings from 136/6 on the last day. In what seemed to be a daunting task on the rank-turner, the hosts were assisted by rain on the final day. The inclement weather conditions had washed out a majority of play.

With the all-rounder-duo of Shakib Al Hasan and Soumya Sarkar batting in the middle, it appeared as if Bangladesh would survive through the 19 overs possible in the last session.

However, it was an inspired bowling effort from Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan which saw them bundling out the opposition for 173 in 61.4 overs. With bowling figures of 21.4-6-49-6, Rashid registered his second five-wicket haul and career-best bowling figures in Test matches.

Knowing that the spinners would get assistance from the pitch, Rashid was seen exploiting the Bangladeshi batsmen. In what was Rashid’s penultimate over of the match, he made sure that he affected the result on his own.
