For all the good work that Bangladesh seem to be doing on the cricket field, some of their actions of it have been quite embarrassing. Bangladesh have steadily grown as a cricketing force and their performances in the ongoing Champions Trophy have proved this notion. But their fans have come in the news for all the wrong reasons again, as the Bangladeshi fans targets Virat Kohli ahead of their match against India.

Bangladesh fans are known to have immense amount of passion for the game of cricket. Players visiting the country have recounted stories which have emphasized the fanatical following for the game in that country.

Their performances in the 2015 World Cup showed that they are a side that was maturing and could not be taken lightly. Eminent cricket commentator, Harsha Bhogle called them a side that was taking giant steps in international cricket, and the proof can be seen in this Champions Trophy.

Their victory over New Zealand showed that they deserved to be in this tournament, and you would be naive to think that India are already through to the finals.

India would do well to remember the 2007 World Cup, where a shock opening match defeat to Bangladesh saw them exit the group stage in embarrassing fashion.

But in recent years, some fans have started putting up notorious messages on social media in an attempt to rile up the opposition team. The most notable one was when a photo shopped image of ‘Dhoni’s beheading’ had made its way on social media.

Indian fans were clearly upset by this and engaged in a war of words with their Bangladeshi counterparts. Eventually, Dhoni had the last laugh as India beat Bangladesh in both the World Cup 2015 as well as the World T20 last year.

And now it looks like they have targeted the skipper Virat Kohli ahead on their semi final. Let us hope Kohli and his men give a fittingly reply on the field.
