Barcelona Transfer News: Inter Milan CEO says Lautaro Martinez will only be sold to Catalans upon his demand

Barcelona Transfer News: Inter Milan CEO claims Lautaro Martinez will only be sold to Barcelona if the striker asks to leave the Italian outfit.

Barcelona is considering to sign Lautaro Martinez in the coming transfer window and view him as the potential replacement for ageing Luis Suarez, who might have last 1-2 years left with the Catalans.

His release clause is of €111 million and Barcelona is ready to reach that sum. But amidst all of this, Inter Milan’s CEO has told to the SkySports Italia that Martinez will not be sent away until the Argentine gives his consent for it.

“Lautaro is growing, he is a very young boy,” he said. “I think he is above all interested in wearing this glorious shirt and growing from a professional point of view,” he said.

“Let’s not forget that because of its history, Inter does not envy any other teams, so as I always say, the players will be sold only and exclusively when they themselves indicate that is what they want.”

Martinez has been sensational this season, in 29 games across all competitions, he has bagged 16 goals and 5 assists. Under his sensational form, the Nerazzuris are closely contesting for the title.

Barcelona seems to be the clear favourites to hire the services of Martinez, as he will surely get enough playing time in the Spanish club and by the end of the first season, and he could establish himself ahead of Suarez in the pecking order.

Moreover, there aren’t any other club at the level of Barcelona, who are actively after Martinez, hence giving the Blaugranas a clear way for him this summer.

But in the end, it remains upon Martinez, whether he will agree to join Barcelona or not when the transfer window arrives. The possibility of winning trophies should serve the purpose though.
