Chelsea News: Mason Mount misses training session, Emerson returns ahead of Liverpool match in the Premier League this weekend.
Chelsea demolished Wolverhampton 5-2 last week and looked to have finally found their rhythm. Following their loss to Manchester United on the opening day, they had registered a victory and 2 draws. To the dismay a lot of fans, those draws came after the Blues looked good for a win.

Chelsea seemed to have finally added some much-required edge to their game after the thrashing of Wolves. However, the loss to Valencia has bought back some questions that Frank Lampard will have to address and soon, lest they fail to even qualify for the Europa this season.
Unfortunately, Frank will most likely have to do it without one of his trusted men in the side. Young Mason Mount has performed exceptionally well for Chelsea this season and along with Tammy Abraham, has been Lampard’s trump card so far.
Mason Mount not seen in training
However, the youngster suffered an injury, 16 minutes into the match against Valencia and had to be replaced. Scans have since shown that he hasn’t suffered any ligament damage. However, he was absent from Chelsea’s training session on Thursday.
Antonio Rudiger, who missed the match against Valencia, also missed training owing to a groin problem. The pair will also likely miss the weekend match against table toppers Liverpool. However, Lampard could be boosted by a couple of key returns.
Emerson starts training
Emerson Palmieri, who has missed Chelsea’s last 2 matches against Wolves and Valencia after suffering a thigh strain during the International break with Italy, was seen training with his teammates. He was joined by N’Golo Kante, who has missed the International break and Chelsea’s last 4 matches due to an ankle injury.
It is unlikely that Kante will play against Liverpool. However, seeing him train is encouraging signs for the fans.
