Chelsea Transfer News: Chelsea midfielder ready to leave Stamford Bridge to join former boss Maurizio Sarri at Juventus to reunite in Italy.
Maurizio Sarri has officially left Chelsea after falling out with Chelsea’s board, even though the Italian manager managed to provide a third place finish and Europa league triumph.
The former Blues manager will officially take charge of Juventus from the start of the following season, as he will replace Massimiliano Allegri at the Turin based club.
It is not a hidden fact Maurizio Sarri is highly fond of Jorginho, and has been his trusted lieutenant since his days in Napoli. In fact, Sarri even brought the Italian International along with himself.
Thus, according to a report by the Mirror, the Italian manager wants to extend his partnership with Jorginho even further, as the 26-year-old midfielder is speculated to make a move to Italy.
Jorginho’s agent, Joao Santos, admits his client would be open to a reunion and insists his past with Napoli would not impact a move to Juventus. Chelsea have a four-year contract with the lad,’ Santos told Tuttomercatoweb.’
‘We’ll wait a few days to figure out whether there is any truth in this interest mentioned in the papers. ‘His past at Napoli won’t be an issue, because Jorginho is a professional. Right now, Jorginho is happy at Chelsea.’
‘He found a great atmosphere and we can’t really say that he’d like to go elsewhere, but anything can happen in the transfer market. We’ll wait and see.’ he further added.
Jorghino initially struggled in the Premier league, but he soon showed his potential in the last phase of his season. However, many Chelsea fans are not convinced as N’Golo Kante is being sacrificed to play Jorginho at his priority position.
Therefore, with new manager coming into the Blues’ dugout soon, Jorginho might opt to reunite with Sarri, instead of losing his game-time.
Although, since Chelsea is imposed with a transfer ban, the West-London club might not choose to deplete their squad further. Additionally, considering Napoli fans admire Jorginho, he might not risk to play for domestic rivals.
