The Chelsea manager was bemused at the question directed his way
Although he’s managed to provide glimpses of his calibre and sprawling expertise, Timo Werner has far from failed to live up to his stature as a striker.
The striker is yet to really take charge of Chelsea’s attack. While there’s been an uptick in his form ever sinch Thomas Tuchel has been at the helm of the club, Werner’s inability to coolly slot the ball into the net is still blatantly visible.
His lacklustre performances have prompted talk of Chelsea wanting to part company with the player. News have been rife about the player trying to offload the player at the end of the season in a bid to make funds for Erling Haaland.
Thomas Tuchel was quizzed about the player’s exit ahead of Chelsea’s outing with Atletico Madrid in the Champions. And the German manager ended up giving a hilarious reply to the rumours.
Tuchel Quashes Werner News
“Stop reading, stop reading, what do you read? Read a book. There is no book about Timo Werner. So read a book,” Tuchel said on reports of Chelsea wanting to sell Werner.

Tuchel also addressed how his team would be looking to compensate for the void left by Jorginho and Mount. Both the players are unavailable for the club for today’s outing after being suspended in the bygone tie.
“A little bit, of course. They are two key players for us, especially Mason for his offensive skills and his power offensive wise to break the lines with dribbles and shots but it is a small line between implementation and excuse,” Tuchel said on the two’s absence.
“They are important players so far but we have a group with which we compete so now is the challenge to adapt and find solutions, a way to play without the two guys.
“We also need to play without Thiago Silva and Tammy, there are no more injuries.
“So we miss four players that makes selection easy as we will choose 23 players and we will use our whole squad, five substitutes during the match and we have a clear idea of what we want to do and how we want to create chances.
“We are very aware Atletico give away fewest chances in Europe, it is very likely that we have to be patient, with intensity at the same time and keep this level constantly going, that is key for tomorrow.”
