Chelsea will face West Ham United in the Premier League as Sarri’s men fight for a top-4 position. We take a look at Chelsea’s predicted lineup for the game.
Chelsea are currently at fifth in the Premier League table. However, that could change after the end of game-week 33 as the side takes on West Ham United on Monday night.
The Blues made an emphatic return to form against Brighton and Hove Albion in the mid-week fixture, as the side registered a 3-0 victory.
Owing to the hectic schedule, Maurizio Sarri finally gave a start to Callum Hudson-Odoi, and the 18-year-old youngster didn’t disappoint. Hudson-Odoi provided an assist to Olivier Giroud for Chelsea’s first goal, while Hazard and Loftus-Cheek scored in the second half to seal the game.
Maurizio Sarri’s side will now aim to continue on their impressive form as they host Pellegrini’s West Ham at the Stamford Bridge. We take a look at Chelsea’s predicted lineup, as they aim to strengthen their claim for the top-4 positions.
Chelsea predicted lineup vs West Ham:
Goalkeeper: Kepa Arrizabalaga
The Chelsea keeper has been in fine form in the last few games and is expected to maintain his place for the match against West Ham on Monday night.
Defender: Azpilicueta, David Luiz, Rudiger, Emerson
Maurizio Sarri hinted at rotating the squad ahead of the game against West Ham United, in the press conference on Friday. The Chelsea manager praised Christensen for his performance against Brighton in the mid-week fixture.
With Chelsea playing three games in the week – including the weekend clash against league leaders Liverpool, we expect Maurizio Sarri to play Rudiger to partner David Luiz.
Midfield: Barkley, Jorginho, Kante
For the same reasons Sarri could choose Rudiger over Christensen, the Chelsea manager may opt for Ross Barkley to start in Loftus-Cheek’s place. Ruben Loftus-Cheek faced injury fears after the game against Brighton, and it is possible that Maurizio Sarri could leave the player on the bench.
Attack: Willian, Hazard, Giroud
Willian could also make a comeback in the game, while Callum Hudson-Odoi is expected to make a substitute appearance in the game against West Ham United.
The youngster impressed Maurizio Sarri during the game against Brighton. Eden Hazard will assume his place in the XI, while Olivier Giroud, who scored the first goal against Brighton in the mid-week fixture, will lead the line.
