Few wrestlers have captivated audiences like CM Punk. Even after his departure from WWE 4 years ago, fans continue to fondly chant his name. True to his ‘cult of personality’ theme, he has undoubtedly carved a cult image in the industry. Now as per reports, CM Punk is eyeing a UFC return, his new abode in his hometown of Chicago.

UFC heads to the Windy City for the first time in history. The UFC 225 event is slated to be held on the 9th of June. However, head turned when ‘Chicago-Made’ Punk promoted the event through Twitter. He also left a couple of enticing emojis which left his legions of fans wondering.

Pinned at the top of his Twitter page, this tweet is drawing great attention worldwide in the wrestling diaspora. The very thought of CM Punk fight in front of his raucous hometown fans of Chicago is sure to give goosebumps to all.

CM Punk ventured into UFC from WWE in a very widely debated decision at that time. While he had always wanted to try out his hand at the octagon, he had his fair share of detractors. They criticized this move stating that this spot deserved to more deserving fighters than to a bonafide sports entertainer.

CM Punk finally made his debut against Mickey Gall in September 2016 after a series of injuries and delays. Though he lasted a mere 2 minutes and 45 seconds, his guts and tenacity was widely appreciated. Ever since, Punk’s future in UFC/MMA has been in question with no proper timelines announced. However, this tweet changes everything!

Punk was last seen in the UFC 218 event when he came in support of one of his sparring partners. While his return is not yet confirmed, CM Punk’s UFC return in Chicago is sure to attract a wide array of eyeballs!
