Big Bash League 2022-23 focus has moved towards Adelaide Oval as the iconic venue is all in readiness of hosting the second match of the ongoing season. Having last faced each other in BBL 2021-22 Challenger at the Sydney Cricket Ground earlier this year, Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Sixers will be kick-starting their BBL 12 campaign tonight.
Hosts Strikers have won 34 and lost 26 out of their 61 Adelaide T20s in the BBL. Sixers, on the other hand, have won and lost five matches each out of their 10 contests at this venue. Moreover, Adelaide (8.33) also have a better run rate than Sydney (7.88) whilst playing here in spite of the visitors doing better in head-to-head records.

Highest run-scorers in BBL matches played at this stadium are Jake Weatherald (1,101), Jonathan Wells (999), Alex Carey (889), Travis Head (776) and Tim Ludeman (567). Needless to say that all these batters play for or have played for Strikers in the past.
Highest BBL wicket-takers at the Adelaide Oval are Peter Siddle (52), Rashid Khan (44), Ben Laughlin (33), Kane Richardson (30) and Michael Neser (30). Other than Siddle and Khan, next on the list in Wes Agar (28) is also part of the current squad at Strikers.
