BCCI annual contracts 2020-21: The Indian cricket board has announced central contracts for as many as 28 cricketers.

BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) have announced the Annual Player Contracts for the Indian men’s cricket team for the period from October 2020 to September 2021.

As many as 28 players have bagged central contracts which are categorised as Grade A+ (INR 7 crore), Grade A (INR 5 crore), Grade B (INR 3 crore) and Grade C (INR 1 crore).

In Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah, the A+ category comprises of only three all-formats players. Most of the Test specialists fall under Grade A which comprises of 10 players. While Grade B consists of five players, Grade C again encompasses of 10 names.

BCCI annual contracts 2020-21

Batsman Shubman Gill, all-rounder Axar Patel and fast bowler Mohammed Siraj have earned contracts in Grade C. While Gill and Siraj had made a name for themselves during the tour of Australia, Patel had made his Test debut and white-ball comeback during the England series at home earlier this year.

Batsmen Kedar Jadhav and Manish Pandey have been left out of the list of contracted players. Jadhav, 36, had last played at the highest level during the tour of New Zealand before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pandey, on the other hand, had last played for India in T20Is during the Australia tour. Much like Jadhav, Pandey’s last ODI appearance had also come in New Zealand last year. The 31-year old player had missed out on selection for the England series due to a tennis elbow injury.

Grade A+: Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah.

Grade A: Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya.

Grade B: Wriddhiman Saha, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shardul Thakur, Mayank Agarwal.

Grade C: Kuldeep Yadav, Navdeep Saini, Deepak Chahar, Shubman Gill, Hanuma Vihari , Axar Patel, Shreyas Iyer, Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Siraj.
