Best Birthday wishes for Ajinkya Rahane: Cheteshwar Pujara, Delhi Capitals, Ravi Ashwin and others wish Rahane on 32nd birthday

Best Birthday wishes for Ajinkya Rahane: The Indian Test vice-captain is receiving heartening wishes on his 32nd birthday.

India Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane has turned 32 today. The cricketer is receiving plentiful heartening wishes across social media platforms since morning.

Rahane, who made his international debut during the tour of England in 2011, has transformed into a Test specialist despite playing 110 white-ball games for India; the last of which had come more than a couple of years ago in South Africa.

In 65 Test matches, the right-hand batsman has scored 4,203 runs at an average of 42.88 and a strike rate of 50.03 including 11 centuries and 22 half-centuries.

While Rahane struggled to cross the three-figure mark for a significant time period in Tests until scoring a fighting 10th Test century against West Indies last year, he has been a vital cog in the wheel in the Test lineup on the back of some gritty contributions especially in overseas Tests.

In the nine Tests that Rahane has played in the last one year, he has scored 715 runs at an average of 59.58 and a strike rate of 47.25 including two centuries and five half-centuries.

Having scored 2,710 runs in 38 overseas Tests at an average of 45.16 including seven centuries and 15 half-centuries, Rahane is the second-highest run-scorer among active Indian batsmen in Tests outside of India.

In his 12-year long IPL career, Rahane has represented Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals (twice) and Rising Pune Supergiants. Had it not been for the novel COVID-19 pandemic, Rahane would have played in the 13th season of the Indian Premier League for his fourth team in Delhi Capitals.
