With the inaugural edition of the Women’s IPL set to commence in a just over three months from now, the entertainment value that the Indian and Australian women’s team provided the viewers and the spectators at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai on Sunday, was a perfect advertisement for the franchise T20 tournament.

Moreover, the free entry for the fans in the stadium meant that over 40,000 spectators experienced an edge-of-a-seat thriller, which to their much delight ended with their team defeating the world champions in a scintillating Super Over, after the twenty Overs clash ended in a tie.

Now, with the five-match series score line presently reading 1-1 after the first two T20Is, the action for the next three encounters will shift to the city’s Brabourne Stadium, with the third match set to take place tomorrow (Wednesday).

No points for guessing that the eyes will be focused on the previous match star Smriti Mandhana, and her opening batting partner Shafali Verma, both of who are renowned for providing blazing starts to the team at the top. Do not commit the mistake to discount on the another teenage sensation in Richa Ghosh, who came up with some brutal hits down the order in both the matches to help the team notch-up a healthy total.
