"Damaad Ko Thank You Boldo": Twitter User Asks Sachin Tendulkar To Thank Shubman Gill For Powering MI to IPL 2023 Playoffs

As he was expected to be, Mumbai Indians icon Sachin Tendulkar was ecstatic at the sight of his team qualifying for the playoffs of the ongoing 16th season of the Indian Premier League. Tendulkar took to social media platform Twitter to be wax lyrical about Mumbai all-rounder Cameron Green, Gujarat Titans batter Shubman Gill and former Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli – all of whom scored individual centuries on the last league day of the season.

In what was the first instance when as many as three IPL centuries were recorded on the same day, Green and Gill touching respective three-figure marks paved a way for Indians to finish as the fourth-ranked team on the points table.

While Green’s hundred allowed his team to seal a 201-run target at the Wankhede Stadium, Gill’s ton played an instrumental role in the defending champions sealing a 198-run chase at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Below Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers on the points table until last night, MI needed to win their last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad and then hope for Bangalore to lose their last match to be in contention for playoffs.

With both the scenarios getting achieved, the Rohit Sharma-led team will now face Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2023 Eliminator in Chennai on Wednesday.

Tendulkar, whose tweets entice hundreds of comments within no time in the general run of things, mentioning Gill’s name was enough for fans to call the latter his “damaad” (son-in-law).

Although the two aren’t related to one another any means, they often find themselves as relatives across social media platforms primarily due to Gill’s rumoured relationship with Sara Tendulkar (Sachin’s daughter). Read more similar tweets below:

It is worth a mention that another Twitter user had given a hilarious Gill reference to Tendulkar meeting Bill Gates earlier this year.
