DC vs SRH Pitch Report of Arun Jaitley Stadium for IPL 2023 Match in Delhi

The 40th match of the ongoing 16th season of the Indian Premier League will take place between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad tomorrow, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

The Capitals, placed right at the bottom in the points table at present, will certainly feel they have the momentum by their side, having registered back-to-back wins in their previous two matches.

It were their bowlers who stepped up during the previous match against SRH, managing to defend the lowest score by a team in the ongoing season. However, the batting department looks far from performing to their potential best as yet, despite the think-tank having tried out different players in the matches so far.

The SRH, on the other hand, have struggled in the batting department as well. None of their batters have been performing consistently, including their new skipper Aiden Markram.

The bowling department too has been dealt with a blow as Washington Sundar, who finally had his name amongst the wicket-takers during the previous match, has been ruled out from the remainder of the tournament due to a hamstring injury.

DC vs SRH Pitch Report of Arun Jaitley Stadium

The pitch at the Arun Jaitley Stadium has been a pretty balanced one for both batters and the bowlers so far in this season.

During the previous match at this venue, the spinners came right into the game as the match progressed, making it challenging for the batters to play their strokes with conviction.

“I think we were 15-20 runs on this difficult pitch. I take the responsibility for this, I should have stood there,” remarked KKR skipper Nitish Rana after losing the match against DC at this venue, after posting mere 127 runs on the board.

The batters are likely to enjoy their time especially against the fast bowlers, who will not really get the ideal seam movement off the deck with the new ball.

The average team score across the three IPL 2023 matches so far here has been 157.8 runs, with the teams batting second winning each of them.
