IPL Stumps Price 2023 in Indian Rupees: How Much Does an LED Wicket Cost in International Cricket?

The one sight which the fans and spectators in the stadium really enjoy apart from the ones where the batters hit those huge, towering Sixes, is a fast bowler dismantling the stumps while getting the better of the batters at sheer pace.

With the usage of the LED stumps, the massacre of the stumps not only further brims the fans with emotions, but is also makes for a soothing sight for the bowlers themselves, who hardly get to behold such sight especially in the T20 format.

However, the fast bowler indeed gets a special kick and an adrenaline rush unparalleled when he manages to break one of these LED stumps into two pieces, not once, but off consecutive deliveries.

During the recently concluded match between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indiansat the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Punjab left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh dug in those searing Yorkers, and broke the middle stump two times around while also handing his team a 13-run victory.

Resultantly, the stumps had to be replaced twice during the last Over, leaving the fans with inquisitiveness as to how much exactly do these LED stumps used during a Cricket match cost!

As per multiple media reports, cost of the three stumps or the set of stumps across both ends of the pitch is approximately around INR 25 Lakh each. Moreover, the Zing bails (on top of the stumps) which flash the instant it comes in contact with the ball or a player, also cost around INR 50,000.

Thus, the two sets of stumps across each end cost not less than INR 50 Lakh during a match.

While these stumps are indeed a costly investment, the biggest advantage of having them is that it facilitates arriving at a correct decision (more often than not), especially in cases where the third umpire has to take a decision involving a close run out or a stumping call.
