Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni does not want to complain for the lack of batting opportunities in Indian Premier League 2023. Dhoni, who has batted four times in six matches, has no one but himself to blame for batting as low as No. 8 in the ongoing 16th season of the biggest T20 league around the world.

Speaking of batting, Dhoni admitted to be hesitatant with respect to batting second against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Chennai tonight. With a bit of rain prediction in the city, dew wasn’t expected to make its presence felt at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. As a result, confusing the 41-year old player regarding his decision at the toss.
Dhoni, who won the toss and chose to bowl eventually, witnessed his team cruising to a clinical 7-wicket victory in the absence of dew and rain. “I was hesitant to bat second because I had that feeling there won’t be a lot of dew. When there are chances of dew, you have to bat second,” Dhoni told host broadcaster Star Sports Network at Chepauk on Friday.

“All said and done, it’s the last phase of my career, however long I play. After two years, the fans have had the opportunity to come here and watch. Crowd has given us a lot of love and affection. They always stay late to listen to me,” Dhoni mentioned.
A fourth win in six matches has propelled Super Kings to the fourth position on IPL 2023 points table. Dhoni and his men will now travel to Kolkata to face Kolkata Knight Riders on the day after tomorrow.
