Manuka Oval Canberra weather warning: Manuka Oval weather forecast for Thunder vs Renegades BBL 12 match

The 47th match of the ongoing 12th season of the Big Bash League will be played between Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Renegades in Canberra tomorrow. One of the 17 BBL 12 venues, Manuka Oval will be hosting its second and last match of the season.

Currently at the sixth position on the points table, Thunder have won five and lost six out of their 11 matches thus far. Renegades, on the contrary, are at the third position after winning six and losing five out of their first 11 BBL 2022-23 matches.

Renegades, who have dominated in head-to-head records between these two teams over the years, had also won the previous match against Thunder at the Docklands Stadium a month ago. Renegades’ fans remember that match for incumbent captain Aaron Finch scoring a match-winning half-century to seal a 175-run chase on the penultimate delivery of the match.

That being said, it is worth a mention that ST have won four out of their last five matches against MR. Furthermore, the home team has won nine and lost six out of their 16 matches at the Manuka Oval till now. The visitors, meanwhile, have won and lost a couple of matches each here. Thunder (8.77) also have a better average run rate than Renegades (8.15) at this stadium.

Manuka Oval Canberra weather warning

All of the above mentioned numbers might mean nothing on the match day especially if weather gods don’t show leniency. It is noteworthy that there’s a considerable rain forecast in Canberra throughout the next 24 hours.

Having said that, the weather is expected to improve by the start time of the match. With the match scheduled to begin at 07:15 PM (local time), there’s a 23% rain probability around 7 PM according to reliable weather portal AccuWeather.

The number, however, is anticipated to reduce to 2% for the remainder of the night which provides confident hints for a match to happen. All one has to hope for is that weather sticks to this prediction and that afternoon rain doesn’t elongate to cast an effect at night.
