Nitish Kumar Reddy Catch Video: SRH Pacer Grabs Splendid Diving Catch to Dismiss Rohit Sharma at Wankhede Stadium

Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma’s fluent innings was cut short, courtesy of an excellent diving catch by Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy.

The moment took place against the run of play as MI were cruising towards a 201-run target in what is a must-win contest for them currently underway at the Wankhede Stadium.

Having smashed his second half-century of the season, Sharma (56) was dismissed off a delivery bowled by left-arm spinner Mayank Dagar. However, by no means would the delivery have resulted in a dismissal, had it not been for the individual brilliance of the fielder.

On the first delivery of the 14th over, Mayank bowled a decently flighted delivery in line with the stumps. Deciding to give himself ample room to perhaps go inside-out towards the extra cover region, the 36-year-old inadvertently sliced the ball towards the point region.

The air-borne shot seemed like clearly beating the fielder placed in that particular position, only for everyone to be handed a jaw-dropping surprise.

Diving full stretch to his right, a flying Reddy went for the catch with both his hands and got his basic right by having his eyes on the ball till the very end.

Perhaps the best part of the catch was the finish. Reddy made sure that the ball did not pop out of his hands, despite his arm taking a blow with the ground impact.

Mumbai win their last league match

Indians accomplished yet another run-chase in excess of the 200-mark this season, as they defeated SRH by 8 wickets. The hero for MI tonight was their Aussie overseas pick Cameron Green (100*) who smashed his maiden T20 century off mere 47 deliveries.

The win has placed Mumbai back on the fourth spot in the table. In order to qualify for the playoffs, they will have to now hope that Gujarat Titans defeat Royal Challengers Bangalore in Bengaluru.
