Virat Kohli has started this year with a bang, where he has already scored a couple of ODI centuries in the three matches he has played. He first scored a century in Guwahati in the 1st ODI against Sri Lanka, whereas he smashed yet another ton in Thiruvananthapuram in the 3rd ODI. Kohli was going through a rough patch, but it is certain that he is back with a bang. He has scored 46 ODI centuries and is just three short of equalling Sachin Tendulkar's milestone. India will play a lot of ODIs this year, and it is certain that if Virat can continue, he will be able to break the record. The innings of Virat in the 3rd ODI was one of his best, where he proved his accelerating ability. He smashed 166 runs in just 110 balls at a S/R of 150.91 and got appreciation from all the pundits around the world. Even Shubman Gill scored a brilliant century in the match.

Virat Kohli introduces fans with unsung heroes

BCCI have released a video where Virat is seen talking to Shubman Gill after the 3rd ODI match. In the video, Virat introduced fans to three members of the Indian support staff who helps in the throwdowns. Kohli mentioned S Raghu, Nuwan and Daya, who have helped the Indian team to prepare well.

Virat insists that all three of them are so capable that they sometimes bowl like a 145-150 km/h pacer. He said that the practice gets intense sometimes, but it is important as well. He introduced all three of them to the fans and said that they should remember these faces as they put in a lot of effort for the same.

“I have spoken about Raghu many times before but Nuwan, Daya and Raghu all three in my honest opinion have given us world-class practice every day, and they challenge us in the nets like any 140-150 km/h bowler will bowl,” Virat Kohli said in the video.

“You guys should remember these faces and names because behind our success a lot of effort is put in by these guys.”

S Raghu is a throwdown specialist of the Indian team, and he has been with the team for a long time now. MS Dhoni used to call him a “foreign pacer” because he has the ability to bowl at higher speeds. He has certainly played a vital role in preparing the Indian batters.

There is not much information available about Nuwan and Daya, but Nuwan is from Sri Lanka as Virat said in the video. Shubman Gill even joked that this trio could have gotten 1500 international wickets.
