Mumbai Indians will face Chennai Super Kings in the 12th match of Indian Premier League 2023. This is the game between the two most successful franchises in the tournament’s history, and there is a lot of buzz about the same.

This game is also called the El-Classico of IPL. El Clasico is a term that is used to refer to the games between Spanish Football Clubs named FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF.
Mumbai have lost their opening game, and they will be looking to bounce back in this match. The form of their captain Rohit Sharma is a thing of worry for the side. Sharma managed to score just one run in 10 balls against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the last match.
Sharma’s record was poor in the last edition of the IPL as well, where he could not even manage to score a single half-century. It will be interesting to see how he will fare in this match.
Rohit Sharma vs CSK Stats
Sharma’s performance against Chennai in IPL has been quite average. In 21 innings against the Super Kings, he has scored 770 runs at an average of 27.50. He has scored seven half-centuries, but his strike-rate has been just 125.41. For a player like Sharma, these records are not that great.
87 (48) has been Sharma’s best performance against Chennai, and it came way back in 2011 at the Wankhede Stadium only. Mumbai’s skipper would want to replicate a knock like that yet again to ensure a smooth win for Mumbai against their arch-rivals.

Rohit Sharma vs Deepak Chahar Head to Head Record in IPL
Chennai’s pacer Deepak Chahar will be handling the new ball for them, and he should get some movement in a night match here. To perform well, Sharma will have to negate the swing of Chahar. Sharma’s performance against Chahar has not been impressive either over the years.
While Sharma has scored 51 IPL runs in 42 balls at a strike-rate of 121.42, Chahar has managed to dismiss him twice in the process. Chahar will again be a big threat against Mumbai tonight.
