Sher e Bangla Test Records: Most Runs, Wickets And Highest Successful Run Chase in Dhaka Tests

One of the busiest ground around the world with respect to international cricket, Shere Bangla National Stadium has already hosted five matches across formats this year. Set to host the imminent one-off Test match between Bangladesh and Afghanistan, Mirpur will be hosting a Test less than 10 weeks after Bangladesh had hosted Ireland in what was also a one-match affair.

As the home team, Bangladesh have participated in each one of the 25 Tests at this venue between 2007-2023. Having won seven and lost 15 times in this period, they will be eager to register their second consecutive victory here in 2023.

Afghanistan, whose only Test against Bangladesh had been played in Chattogram in 2019, will be playing their first Dhaka Test Wednesday onwards. Out of their 11 white-ball matches in the city, the visitors have won five and lost six to have a decent record.
