The Bangladesh Premier League 2022 is up and running in Bangladesh, this is the premier T20 tournament of the country, and all the big names are a part of it. The first leg of the tournament is being played at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur.

Sylhet Strikers started the tournament with a bang where they registered a brilliant 8 wickets win over Chattogram Challengers. The match was fully dominated by the bowlers, and it will be interesting to see how the pitch will behave with so many games.

The tournament will be played across three venues this year, a total of 42 league games will be played in the tournament. Sher-e-Bangla Stadium will host the final on 16th February.

Fortune Barishal have achieved the highest T20 run chase at this very ground during the Bangabandhu T20 Cup 2020. Minister Rajshahi scored 220/7 in the first innings, where Najmul Hossain Shanto scored a brilliant century and Anisul Islam Emon scored a half-century.

Fortune Barishal chased the record total in just 18.1 overs with eight wickets to spare. Parvez Hossain Emon scored a century in just 42 balls, whereas Tamim Iqbal scored a half-century. These two totals are also the highest innings T20 total at this very venue.
