Who won the toss today IPL 2021: Who is batting first in CSK vs RR IPL 2021 match?

Who won the toss: The 12th match of Indian Premier League 2021 will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals.

Two wicket-keeper captains will once again lock horns against each other as Chennai Super Kings will play against Rajasthan Royals in the 12th match of the ongoing 14th season of the Indian Premier League.

With the contest set to be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, fans can expect a high-scoring contest which could be affected by the dew factor especially in the second innings.

Who won the toss today in IPL 2021?

Talking about the toss result, Rajasthan captain Samson won the toss and invited Chennai in to bat. It is worth mentioning that this is the third consecutive time when Samson has won the toss and chose to field.

“Bowling first works in these conditions so that’s what we’ll do. We trust our team, we trust our team-mates. In this format, it’s easy to get out but we have a deep batting, so that helps,” Samson told Star Sports at the toss.

Being asked to bat first, Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni laid emphasis on assessing the conditions especially while batting in the first innings. The same has it in it to have an impact as far as CSK’s projected first innings score is concerned.

“It’s part of the game. I think he [Ruturaj Gaikwad] just needs to assess and he’s doing okay. I feel last year would have taught him a lot about phases where you’re not scoring a lot of runs when you want to. I think he’s well equipped to deal with that.

“The surface looks a bit tacky to start, so I think it’ll be important to assess and we’ll have to consider dew. But if there’s no dew we don’t really need to look for a 200-type total,” Dhoni told Star Sports at the toss.

Fans must note that both the teams are unchanged for this match.
