Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni has hinted about continuing playing in Indian Premier League beyond the ongoing season. During the toss of the 45th match of IPL 2023, Dhoni confirmed that he has still not thought about giving up on playing for CSK.

Dhoni announced his retirement from International cricket in 2020 but he has been a constant part of CSK in IPL. Chennai has been hosting IPL matches for the first time since 2019 and Dhoni has always said that he wants to play his last match in front of his home fans. There were a lot of speculations about Dhoni retiring after this season but he has certainly denied the same.
In the IPL 2020 match between Chennai and Punjab Kings, Danny Morrison asked Dhoni about his retirement and Dhoni’s ‘Definitely Not’ made all the headlines. The same kind of questions were asked to Dhoni in the last couple of seasons as well and he always denied the speculations.
MS Dhoni Hints at Playing IPL 2024 for CSK
It was Morrison again at the toss between Chennai and Lucknow Super Giants. He again jokingly asked Dhoni about how he is enjoying his last season. Dhoni gave an indication about playing next season by saying that he has not decided about quitting.
“How you’re enjoying your last season (jokingly)?” Danny Morrison asked Dhoni on host broadcaster Star Sports during the toss.
“You’ve decided that it’s my last season, not me (laughs),” Dhoni replied.

Dhoni surprised everyone by stepping down as the captain of the side last season. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was made the new captain of the side but Dhoni was made the captain midway again after Chennai’s struggles under Jadeja. Dhoni has been fantastic as captain in the ongoing edition.
MS Dhoni won the toss against Lucknow Super Giants
The toss between Chennai and Lucknow was delayed due to rain. Dhoni won the toss and Chennai decided to bowl first on a slow track in Lucknow. Pacer Deepak Chahar made his return to the side and he replaced Akash Singh.
For Lucknow Super Giants, captain KL Rahul has been ruled out of the match. Batter Manan Vohra has replaced him in the playing XI.
