Cristiano Ronaldo once again pulled a rabbit out of his hat, as he scored a sensational freekick goal against local rivals Torino to extend the lead for his team, which played a crucial role in sealing the victory.

Juventus was awarded a freekick after Ola Aina picked a yellow card for a hand over Danilo’s shot. The Portuguese International then rose to the occasion and stepped ahead to take the spot-kick.

Ronaldo lifted the shot over the wall and curls it into the top-left of the corner, giving Salvatore Sirigu no chance. 3-1 Juventus. With this, the Turin club was able to confirm their win.

This free-kick goal by Ronaldo was first ever since he arrived in Serie A, but this took his tally to 55 free-kick goals in his entire career, displaying his glory days when he was a prolific freekick goalscorer.

Juventus was only a goal ahead before this free-kick and was at risk of losing the slight advantage over their city rivals, which could have hampered their race for top spot.

The goal by Ronaldo gave a huge relief to Maurizio Sarri, later the Old lady further added another goal to their tally Koffi Djidji scored an own-goal after he failed to clear off the cross sent in by Danilo.

As of now, Juventus has a comfortable 7 point lead over Lazio, but the Rome based team has a game in hand. Lazio’s defeat against Atalanta was a setback to their title chase.

But Lazio’s two successive wins against Fiorentina and Torino respectively have still kept their hopes above, considering they keep the gap intact until their game against Juventus, in which they would be forced to grab a win.
