May 3rd 2017 will be a date that no Real Madrid fan will ever forget. This was the night when Real Madrid lifted their 12th European Cup (now known as Champions League) and became the first side to win back-to-back Champions League titles in the Champions League era. And this was also the night when Cristiano Ronaldo put his name up as truly one of greatest footballers of all time. And the Portuguese captain was clearly pleased after the match, as some people noticed that Cristiano Ronaldo ‘likes’ a picture mocking Lionel Messi.
Ronaldo has made a habit of breaking records, and the Champions League final was no different. He scored the first and then the decisive third goal for Madrid, as Ronaldo became the first man to score in three different Champions League finals. He also became the first man to score four Champions League final goals.

While he was merely a spectator in the Real’s previous triumphs, Ronaldo shone under the brightest lights in club football, as he struck two blows that knocked the stuffing out of a very good Juventus side.
Even for his incredible standards, Ronaldo must feel that the last 12 months have been like a dream. In this period, he has won two Champions League titles, one European Championship, a Ballon d’Or and a La Liga title. And now it looks like there might be another one in store for the Portuguese champion.
There was a time when Ronaldo had one Ballon d’Or while Messi had four. Now Ronaldo is the favorite to tie Messi’s record of five Ballon d’Or titles, something that was thought impossible.
And his fans seem to take particular pleasure in mocking Messi. One particular fan posted an image on Instagram which shows Messi handing over his Ballon d’Or to Ronaldo. And surprisingly, Ronaldo himself liked that image.
So it looks like Ronaldo keeps an eye on what his fans say about him.
