CSK wants to buy Gautam Gambhir in the auction
Chennai Super Kings will return to the IPL this year, as the ‘Whistle Podu’ army will be in full voice come the first match of the season.
Every Chennai fan will be eagerly looking forward to their first home match, as the Chepauk will surely be buzzing that night.
After retaining the likes of Dhoni, Raina and Jadeja before the auction, CSK will now turn their attention to the mega IPL auction, that will take place later this month.

Rumours are swirling around that CSK are looking to buy former KKR skipper, Gautam Gambhir in the auction.
KKR decided not yo retain Gambhir before the auction, as they will try to build a new team and start afresh from the next season of the IPL. While ideally they would have wanted to bring back their captain, there were issues that prevented that from happening.
Gambhir’s situation is slightly complicated, as there are major question marks over his longevity and future in the game.
The legendary KKR captain has had a wonderful time at Kolkata, as Gambhir led them to two IPL titles in three years. There remains a strong and wonderful bond between Gambhir and Kolkata, as the people of the beautiful city still retain a lot of love for their adopted son.
According to some source, Gambhir asked the KKR team to let him go, as he wants to go back and play for Delhi.
Check out CSK’s tweet:
I Hv a strong feeling @GautamGambhir wil b picked by @ChennaiIPL in this auction. #IPLRetention

Gambhir played for Delhi in the first three years of the IPL, before he was let go by the Delhi franchise.
They have since gone on to rue that decision, and will now hope that Gambhir will be able to rescue them from the doll drums that they have found themselves in over the last few years. But will Delhi manage to get Gambhir?
