Dani Alves slams Lionel Messi after his remarks against Brazil and referees

Dani Alves slams Lionel Messi after the Argentine International makes disrespectful statement against Brazil and Copa America referees.

Argentina Vs Brazil ended on a controversial note, as Lionel Messi accused the referees for their unfair conduct and bias against Brazil. The 32-year-old player further fumed after he was sent off against Chile in the third place match.

Messi called out CONMEBOL once again, stating that the competition was corrupted in order for Brazil to emerge victorious on home soil. Hence, it led to several Brazilian players lashing out at him.

Recently, Dani Alves, Messi’s one of closest friends in the football fraternity has given a befitting reply to his ex-teammate at Barcelona, as Alves seems upset with Messi’s remarks.

“A friend is not always right just because he’s a friend. You can say it in the heat of the moment, but I still won’t agree,” Alves told SporTV’s ‘Bem Amigos’ .

“Firstly, he’s disrespecting an institution such as the Selecao, in my view. Secondly, he’s being disrespectful with several professionals who put a lot of things aside so they could be there fighting for a dream.

“I’m a friend who always tells the truth when it’s due, and I think he was wrong for saying these things.” he further added.

Although, Alves was one of the only players, who talked against the criticism on Messi after Argentina’s defeat against Brazil in the Copa America semi-final, but this accusation by Messi did not go well with Alves.

Amidst the controversy, Lionel Messi is reportedly set to get a long ban by CONEMBOL for the disrespect against the association by the Barcelona star.
