Denis Suarez to Arsenal: The Barcelona midfielder has been long linked with a move to the Emirates. However, it seems the deal has now collapsed.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with the signing of Denis Suarez on loan. The club’s head coach, Unai Emery has spoken about the possibility of the move on multiple occasions.

While Emery stated that a permanent transfer is out of the question as the club cannot sign players, there was heavy speculation over a loan move.

However, it has now been reported that the move has collapsed as Barcelona have pulled out of negotiations due to Arsenal’s Head of Football, Raul Sanllehi.

He has been blamed for lack of progress in Arsenal’s transfer talks to secure a move for Suarez.

Denis Suarez to Arsenal:

It was reported earlier that Barcelona had given their ‘go-ahead’ for the move for Suarez to join Arsenal.

Italian outlet Calciomercato also reported that a loan move amounting to 2 million euros loan-fee was close, with an obligatory buy-out clause for the summer.

However, Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo has now reported that a deal has now collapsed after differences with Arsenal’s head of football, Raul Sanllehi.

Barcelona have blamed the Arsenal man for the lack of progress move. Sanllehi has previously worked with Barcelona as director, and Barca believe that he killed the possibility of a deal by turning the negotiations into a game of one-upmanship.

Unai Emery has worked with Denis Suarez in the past and was hopeful of a reunion with the midfielder at Arsenal, but the club’s financial constraints are said to be the reason behind the failure to agree on a permanent deal.

Denis Suarez previously played under Unai Emery during his time at Sevilla, where he played 47 games across all competitions as the Spanish side lifted the Europa League trophy that season.

Earlier, this is what Emery said in the press conference:

“We cannot sign permanently. We can only loan players. Only loan players.

“I can say to you that the club is working, the club is telling me the different situations in each moment. [But] At the moment, we haven’t had any news today about that.”
