The first match of the imminent Deodhar Trophy will be played tomorrow between India A and India at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. While Test batsman Hanuma Vihari will lead India A, veteran wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel will lead India B.
India C is the third team which will take part in the Deodhar Trophy. The triangular series will witness each team playing each other before the final match slated to be played on November 4. Deodhar Trophy squads comprise of players who have done well in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Test specialists such as Hanuma Vihari, Ravichandran Ashwin and Shahbaz Nadeem will be looking to leave an impression in the white-ball format through the tournament.
The all-rounder-duo of Kedar Jadhav and Vijay Shankar, who have been in and out of the ODI team of late, would also be looking to be among the runs for India B.
In six Vijay Hazare Trophy matches, 34-year old Jadhav scored 115 runs at an average of 19.16 including a lone half-century. On the other hand, Shankar scored 384 runs in 10 matches at an average of 54.85 and a strike rate of 81.35 including three half-centuries.
