Dhoni got quite emotional when CSK reached the final- Suresh Raina

CSK defeated SRH to storm into the IPL 2018 finals and Captain Dhoni got quite emotional on the occasion, Suresh Raina has said.

The Chennai Super Kings have taken the IPL by storm after making a comeback to the league. Following a 2-year ban, analysts were not giving CSK a good chance of even making it to the Playoffs. They felt that CSK had gone for an old team and it would be very difficult for the side to survive in the league.

On the contrary, CSK led by a talismanic Captain MS Dhoni not only stormed into the playoffs but soon booked a berth in the finals. And when you talk about Thala, it is customary to talk about Chinna Thala. Raina had also had a decent IPL. Moreover, both Raina and Dhoni get along very well with each other.

Dhoni has played a crucial role in Raina’s development over the years. They have also had various key partnerships over the years. Raina feels that the two-time title holders have a great chance of winning the trophy this year and well. And this time around, they want to do it for MSD.

“He (Dhoni) got quite emotional (when CSK reached the final). He cares so much for Chennai; we all do. He has been amazing for CSK since 2008 and is one of the nicest guys around. So this time, we want to win the IPL for Dhoni.

“He gets criticized so often and every time answers his critics back through his performance. Sometimes you need to see it from an emotional side as well. We definitely have a team which can win it for MS this time. You need to do something every time he turns up and that is the reason we want to win the IPL for Dhoni,” further added the veteran CSK batsman, Raina said in an interview to the CSK website.
