Eden Hazard, the 26-year-old winger has denied to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge with Real Madrid looking like a plausible destination.

Belgian winger’s father revealed that his son has rejected a new long term deal at Chelsea and is hoping for a transfer to the Spanish capital.

After having a poor season during the Leicester City fairy tale, Hazard was back to his scintillating best guiding Chelsea to the title in the 2016-17 season. After having a slump in form under Mourinho, the Belgian forward has reinvented himself under Conte and is regarded as one of the best players in the world right now.

Another impressive start to the new season:

Hazard has continued from where he left last season making a strong start to this season. Although far from the summit, Hazard has been impressive for his Chelsea side piling up one great performance after another. Hazard’s contract at Chelsea runs till 2020, but with Madrid on the horizon a transfer to the Bernabeu looks closer than ever.

Thierry Hazard, Eden’s father, while talking to Le Soir confirmed that his son has decided to wait until he signs a new deal at Chelsea hoping for an offer from Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid.

“What I can reveal about Eden is that he refused a contract extension,” he told Le Soir.

“This was so that, if necessary, he could follow the interest of the Real, whom he could see himself playing for.”

“But, as of right now, there is no contact from Real Madrid. Eden is only one of the parties involved in his future.”

It was not the first time Hazard was linked with Real Madrid:

There have been instances in the past too when Hazard has been linked with the Spanish giants. In November, when asked about the reigning European Champions, Hazard had candidly said “everyone knows the admiration I have for Real Madrid”.

Hazard has eight goals and eight assists across all competitions for Chelsea this season and has looked almost unplayable at times. The Belgian has been a great asset from the London side and continues to get better with every passing game.
