Eden Hazard to Real Madrid: Maurizio Sarri speaks about the possibility of keeping Chelsea star at Stamford Bridge

Eden Hazard to Real Madrid: Maurizio Sarri has spoken about the possibility of keeping Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge.

Real Madrid are planning for a massive overhaul in the summer transfer window. The Los Blancos are planning to bring in new faces before the new season kicks on to upgrade their squad and challenge for major trophies, unlike this season – facing early elimination in the Champions League and failing to challenge for the La Liga.

Eden Hazard is a particular player attracting superior interest from Santiago Bernabeu after turning down three offers from Chelsea. He heads the shortlist of Zinedine Zidane, and the player has agreed on with the personal terms according to various sources.

Scoring the spot-kick which mattered the most, Maurizio Sarri was asked about the possibility of keeping Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge next season. The Italian International said: “I don’t know. If Hazard is thinking that the history here is finished, then in his mind it is finished. I can try to speak to him but it is not easy. It’s not easy because of course, I want Hazard, but I want Hazard with a very high level of motivation,” Sarri said.

“As you know you have to ask the club because I am not in control of the market. I am not in charge of the renewal of the contract so I am not able to answer. I can only speak to the player but like a father, not like a manager.”

“Also if I speak to him, I will not tell you anything. It’s a discussion between a father and a son,” he concluded.

Winning the Chelsea player of the year award, Eden Hazard is reportedly available for a fee of 100 million pounds. But, Real Madrid believe that a fee of around 80 million would suffice to land the attacker. One thing is for sure, Maurizio Sarri and Chelsea will do everything to keep their star at the club, especially with the transfer ban playing a huge role.
