2023 Spanish GP Weather Forecast: Will Rain Spoil the Party at the Circuit De Barcelona-Catalunya?
With Red Bull dominating the 2023 season so far, fans keep hoping for external factors like rain to cause a shake-up in the grid. Ahead of the race at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this weekend, fans are hoping for the same. But what is the weather forecast looking like at the 2023 Spanish GP?
The last two races on the calendar this year faced very different consequences due to weather conditions. Horrific flooding due to rainfall in the Emilia-Romagna region led to the cancellation of the Imola GP. The very next weekend, however, rain towards the end of the Monaco GP ended up making the finish extremely interesting.
Formula 1 personnel were asked to leave the paddock at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix on Tuesday amid concern over heavy rain in Imola ahead of this weekend’s race.

Ahead of the Spanish GP, fans are hoping for a repeat of the latter but with some more effect in the final finishing order. While there is a slight chance of their wishes getting fulfilled, we may also be in for a pretty normal weekend in Barcelona.
What is the weather forecast for the 2023 Spanish GP?
According to weather.com, there is a slight chance of rain in the circuit on all three days. Thankfully, the predictions don’t point toward a complete washout. Instead, the rain is expected to come in pockets, which might stir up the action during qualifying and the race.
During FP1 an Fp2 on Friday, no rain is expected. The drivers and teams can go flat out around the track, trying to gather as much data as possible. Saturday and Sunday afternoons, on the other hand, could turn out to be a bit tricky, with light rain mentioned in the forecast.

What to expect from this year’s Spanish Grand Prix?
Heading into the Spanish GP weekend, calling any team other than Red Bull the favorite doesn’t do justice to their dominance. Sadly for fans of the hometown heroes Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz, it seems as though Max Verstappen and Red Bull will continue with their dominance.

Earlier this week, Helmut Marko revealed that Red Bull will be bringing in upgrades to bolster their performance in Barcelona. This is an ominous sign for Aston Martin, Mercedes and Ferrari, who were hoping to catch Verstappen and Co. with upgrades of their own.
Regardless, Alonso and Sainz will be hoping to put in a strong shift in front of their home fans this weekend.
