After Making Max Verstappen $210,000,000 F1 Star, Jos Verstappen Admits Missing the Excitement of Racing

Jos Verstappen played a huge role in shaping his son Max Verstappen into the driver he is today. The little kid he trained years back is just one Sprint race victory away from becoming a three-time champion. Now, as his son has amassed a staggering $210,000,000 net worth, Verstappen Sr. came out to reveal that he misses the action of staying behind the wheel, as per Dutch Formule1.

Coming into 2023, Verstappen Sr.’s efforts seem to have paid off as the young Dutch driver is just one win away from being a three-time world champion. He earns over $55 million a year from his contract at Red Bull and has a $210 million net worth.

Jos Verstappen misses out on adrenaline rush

As Verstappen, the Red Bull star, is now an established racing driver, he is rarely seen with his father on the race track, unlike in old times. When the 25-year-old debuted in F1, his father always accompanied him to the racing track. However, Jos Verstappen, who is no longer needed trackside, misses the adrenaline rush.

The 51-year-old said that even though his son’s win and overall success excites him, it is very different to the rush he got from being behind the wheel himself.

Talking about this, he said as per Dutch Formule1, “I need that adrenaline [driving a racing car] a bit. The feeling of racing in a car yourself cannot be compared to the feeling you have when you are standing next to the track. It’s very different. No, not more exciting. I find watching Max just as exciting as racing myself.”

How Verstappen Sr. is living his days?

To battle with his missing action, Verstappen Sr. has recently started competing in rally racing. He became an active driver for Verstappen.com Racing in the Belgian Rally Championship.

Furthermore, he also won a race in this category. This gave a “like father like son vibe” after Max Verstappen, too, emerged victorious in Japan. However, for Jos Verstappen, lack of experience is another factor he has to deal with in rally racing.

In his recent interview, the father of Max Verstappen shared that he suffers from a lack of experience. He is new to this sport and is yet to spend a huge amount of time in it, Nevertheless, he is enjoying his life and is looking to get more success in rallying.
