Amid Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari Switch Rumors, Frederic Vasseur Reveals His Take on the Affair: “Bull’sh*t Not To Say…”

Frederic Vasseur has finally opened up on the much-talked-about Lewis Hamilton transfer saga to Ferrari. The Italian team boss revealed that he had been seeing the rumors and it would be “bullsh*t” to say otherwise.

The internet is hot on Hamilton’s transfer rumors to the Prancing Horse. Despite having a feeble rumor of a swap between Mercedes and Ferrari on Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, the gossip found a lifeline after Daily Mail‘s recent report.

The report said that Ferrari president John Elkann is having close contact with the British driver and he’s ready to rope in the seven-time world champion even if he has to splash millions.

As the rumors now reached sky-high, the newly appointed Ferrari boss finally decided to address the situation. And why not, when you’ve got one of the finest drivers switching to one of the finest teams?

Hamilton is wanted by all, said Vasseur

As the French boss opened up on the transfer saga, he did not shy away from accepting that all the teams would want him in their team at some stage and that includes him.

But having said that, the 54-year-old assured me that he didn’t have any discussion about this with his team or the driver. Furthermore, he also joked about how the rumors sent Leclerc to Mercedes and Sainz to Audi [in 2026]

Speaking about this ahead of the Monaco GP, Vasseur said as per Formullana on Twitter, “I think every single team on the grid would like to have Hamilton at one stage. I think it would be buIIsh*t to not say something like this.”

Admittedly, Vasseur and Hamilton have worked together previously in F3 and GP2. The British raced under the Frenchman in GP2 [now F2] in the ART team in 2006. The duo have been keeping close contact ever since.

Vasseur snubbed Hamilton rumors

Speaking to the media ahead of the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix, the Ferrari honcho flatly snubbed the rumors connecting Lewis Hamilton to Maranello.

The former Alfa Romeo boss stated as per Motorsport.com, “If I discussed with Hamilton, I discussed the last 20 years. I discussed almost every single weekend with Hamilton – I don’t want to have to stop to discuss with him because you are chasing me!”

He further added that the team is currently having a discussion internally with the driver duo of Leclerc and Sainz. The team is also focused on the upcoming plan and doing their job, all internally, Fred Vasseur concluded.
