Boston Set to Host USA’s First Formula 1 Arcade, Opening in March 2024

In line with three races in the United States in the 2023 calendar, Formula 1 has promised another attraction to its growing fanbase in the USA. The east coast city of Boston will welcome F1’s first arcade in America.

The 16,000-square-foot Boston Seaport location will equip 69 racing simulators, each designed to give a complete immersion into racing. The venue will also host numerous fine dining options, an enormous feature cocktail bar, and private rooms which can be combined to accommodate up to 200 guests.

This will give guests a luxurious retreat paired with the thrills of racing. The venue is set for a March 2024 opening date. With the arcade, F1 has taken another step in monetizing its ever-growing fanbase in the States.

F1 to broaden its reach in the US with Formula 1 arcade

After the success of the first-ever Formula 1 arcade in London, the sport is set to open another venue across the pond. The venue opened in November 2022 and has since seen a footfall of 8000 visitors every week.

F1’s popularity in social media paired with the success of Netflix’s ‘Drive To Survive’ has propelled F1’s popularity in the USA. In fact, in the last few years, the revenue from F1’s US fanbase has propped it ahead of traditional European markets.

The arcade aims to improve the fan experience by providing an immersive gaming experience paired with fine dining options. This will give the sport additional revenue on non-race weekends, allowing it to capitalize on its hype. This will also be a way to bring in new fans as the sport aims to improve its footprint.

F1 plans to open multiple arcades in the US

The Formula 1 arcade set to open in Boston will be the first of many for the sport. Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Formula 1, addressed the aims of the sport to venture beyond Grand Prix to expand F1.

He said, “Formula 1 is enjoying significant growth globally, and we are constantly innovating to ensure that we are bringing the highest quality of sport and entertainment to new and diverse audiences.”

He continued, “The success of the London venue so far has been incredible, and we are excited to see the F1 Arcade project continue to grow as it hits the US, starting in Boston.”

F1 has plans of opening up to 20 arcades in the US in the coming years. Each will feature exquisite dining and bar options along with simulators with many race mode options.
