Charles Leclerc Fans Slam Ferrari for Celebrating Carlos Sainz’s Glory at the Cost of His Misery

Ferrari’s official social media handle has been slammed by fans after they seemingly ignored what happened to Charles Leclerc at the Monaco Grand Prix last year. The Prancing Horse put up a Tweet to celebrate Carlos Sainz’s podium finish last year in Monaco, the race in which Leclerc failed to win despite starting on pole.

As it so happened, Leclerc lost the race through no fault of his own but Ferrari‘s. The Monegasque was in the lead for the majority of the race before a disastrous pit-stop decision from his team cost him the win. The team initially decided to call Leclerc into the pits but decided against it at the last minute, which immensely annoyed the 25-year-old.

However, by that moment it was already too late. Leclerc had already made his way into the pits, a miscommunication that cost him three places in the main race. From leading his home race, the Monegasque driver slipped down to P4, which is where he ended his race. Red Bull’s Sergio Perez finished the race in P1, followed by Sainz in P2.

F1 fans slam Ferrari for ‘ignoring‘ Leclerc’s Monaco GP disaster

F1 fans such as Ada were fuming to see Ferrari’s official Twitter handle celebrate Carlos Sainz’s podium at the Monaco Grand Prix last year. They believe that Ferrari should be ‘ashamed’ of themselves after they ‘f***ed’ Charles with their strategy and ‘robbed’ him of a win in Monaco.

Some other fans such as Harry were in disbelief that Ferrari are celebrating a subpar performance. Instead, they believe that the Prancing Horse should celebrate Charles Leclerc’s Australian GP Grand Slam from last year. He had a perfect weekend in Melbourne last year as he not only clinched pole but also won the race, along with earning an extra point for the fastest lap.

Meanwhile, some other F1 fans expressed their shock at seeing how Ferrari’s standards have fallen. They are in disbelief that the team are choosing to celebrate just a podium instead of a Grand Slam.

And then there were some other fans such as Veronica who expressed their happiness on Sainz clinching the podium in Monaco last year. However, they too made it clear that Ferrari should hold themselves responsible for the ‘mess‘ they created that weekend.

F1 fans have often had mixed opinions on Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz

There has often been a war of words on Twitter between fans of both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, with them arguing about who is the better driver is. Leclerc fans are generally of the opinion that Sainz isn’t at the Monaco-born driver’s level. For Sainz fans, the feeling is opposite.

For example, a fan named Harry claims that he cannot believe that those who feel Sainz is a better driver than Leclerc ‘actually watch the races‘.

Irrespective of how Leclerc and Sainz view their own teammate rivalry, fans have their own strong views on who is better. For example, a fan named Cande went to the extent of providing a detailed analysis of why they believed that the claims the Spaniard media were making were false.

And then there were some fans such as Ahmed who also went to the extent of stating that they ‘finally found something Carlos Sainz is better at than Charles Leclerc‘. This was in reference to Sainz playing soccer during a charity match in Monaco.
