"Dream to be on a podium with Carlos Sainz"- Fernando Alonso makes heartwarming statement for his fan

“Dream to be on a podium with Carlos Sainz”- Fernando Alonso makes a heartwarming statement for his compatriot, who grew up idolizing him.

It is no secret that Carlos Sainz absolutely adores Fernando Alonso and in many interviews have stated that he spent his childhood idolizing his compatriot.

Sainz who would be racing for Ferrari astonishingly is on the same path as Alonso, who raced for the same four teams with a similar chronological order.

If this was not enough for Sainz, now Alonso, his childhood hero has stated that it would be a dream to stand on the same podium with Alonso.

“It is imaginable, and it would be a dream to be on a podium with Carlos Sainz,” said Alonso to CadenaSAR. Sainz so far in his career has won two podiums, each in 2019 and 2020, and on both two occasions, Alonso was not in F1.

Renault in 2021 is more promising.

Though controversially, Alonso participated for Renault in the young drivers’ test at Abu Dhabi and clocked the fastest time in the session, which also involved Mick Schumacher, Yuki Tsunoda, and Nikita Mazepin.

Speaking on the car’s ability, the Spaniard feels that the 2021 car seems to be more competitive than its predecessors and hopes for a fantastic year.

“It’s a more competitive car than I imagined, let’s hope this inertia continues. It will be Alpine and not Renault and I am curious about its design, colours, etc.,” he said.

“What am I content with? I have none in terms of a specific position. It would be good to get on the podium. This season it seems that there were more possibilities than in others for the rest of the teams, but I am aware that those podiums came because of catastrophes Mercedes.”

“Doing a podium and savouring the champagne again would be fantastic, “he comments about his agreement with the results of the coming season,” Alonso concluded.
