Ever since the season started, Red Bull has been dominating on every single track. But now Formula 1 is in its European leg, and Monaco is the first destination. And the narrow lanes over there are giving high hopes to Ferrari as team boss Fred Vasseur, as per the RaceFans, revealed that he expects either Charles Leclerc or Carlos Sainz to get the win.
Despite being the most historic, Monaco’s track is least suited for overtaking. Thus, it could limit the pace superiority of Red Bull’s RB-19 as the Milton-Keynes-based team, even if it fails to get an ideal grid start. It manages to go for a win by easily passing over others.

Instead, Saturday is the most important day in Monaco during race weekend, as the pole-sitter is usually the favorite to win. So, Vasseur has high expectations for the right reasons.
Fred Vasseur wants Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz to exploit their strength
While Ferrari has lacked in race pace, its qualifying pace is something at which they are comparatively better. Over here, Vasseur thinks they can obtain an edge over everyone else.
“From the beginning [of the season], I think we were always in a position to fight for pole position,” said Vasseur on Thursday. “And when you start from the first row in Monaco, you can expect to win – or at least you have the chance to do it.”
He admits that it is a good opportunity for Ferrari to gain its first success of the season, as they haven’t even won a podium in 2023 so far. But before the race, he wants to wait for how they perform on Saturday.
Max Verstappen agrees
The championship leader Max Verstappen also agrees that Red Bull could be at a disadvantage at Monaco. He points out that the corners are so slow and tight that it needs different behavior from the car compared to conventional tracks.
So, over here, according to the current world champion, Red Bull might not be able to dominate. Even his teammate Sergio Perez feels the same. The Mexican race driver thinks that Red Bull will struggle to showcase its strengths on the track this weekend.
However, Red Bull is still among the strong sides this weekend too. They surely have a good pace, and if they get pole position, they are likely to win until some mistakes happen.
